Stuff, Soccer, Easter, and more stuff.

It's been awhile.  I used to loathe downloading photos or making postings on my old computer because it was so damned slow, but now I have a new-to-me iMac G5, and now it's so much easier to work with pictures, make posts, etc.  This new (to me) machine is just beautiful, and it's so much faster than my old iMac.  And the screen is twice as big as my last one!  Bonus!  This machine is only 5 years old (my previous computer was 7+ years old!), so I'm working up in the world!  It's a leftover from Netconnect- when Jerry's employee Sue started working from home, she started using her own laptop at home to do her work, and she had this machine in her office, so now I get it!  Funny thing is, my old iMac was also a hand-me-down computer when she got this one new.  Bottom line- I'm spending way to much time at my computer now.

Anyway.  Things are busy around here, and if it's possible, they might just be picking up even more!  I already have very few open weekends from now until the end of June.  Gary has soccer until May 2nd, then there are graduations, Jaycee obligations, camp, amateur radio field day, you name it.  But I love it!  When I have nothing to do is when I find myself being lazy on the couch, watching TV and eating.  As long as I keep busy, I can keep the eating under control.

The boys had a physical yesterday (Gary needed one to go to camp this year!  He's so excited!) and Brendan is 3'10" (46") and 50lbs, and Gary is 4"4" (52") and is 59 lbs.  Brendan is WAY off the chart for height, and about 95th for weight- so he is perfectly proportioned.  Gary is back on the chart for his height at 95th (which means the kids are catching up with him), but he has dropped to 75th percentile for weight (I though he would be off the charts at 59lbs!).  But he is also very well proportioned.  They are both very healthy, and VERY active (note: borderline hyper-active).  No shots for now, though I needed to get a tetnus booster to be able to accompany Gary to camp!  Yuck.  I really thought I've had one fairly recently, but the only one they had on file was from 1994!  Oh well.  Now I know I'm current.   Last time I had the tetnus booster I remember my arm aching for several days and not being able to use is 100%, but this time, nothing hurt.  There was no sting or burn during injection, nor does my arm ache today.  I'm pleased.

Suburban went to the shop yesterday to replace the brakes and shocks, and do some other minor tune-ups, so I'll be driving the boys around in my tiny, 2 door car.  Hey, it gets the job done!

Boys have just a month left of school, (!!!) and while I don't think they really comprehend it, I certainly do.  I'm getting a little anxious about having to deal with both boys all day everyday again- it's been since August that I've had to do that!  They've both adjusted to being away from each other during the day, and when they are together they just pick and fight.  It's exhausting, to say the least.  I'm hoping and praying that I can get some sort of kid-free vacation this summer.  Not expecting it, but hoping.  I haven't been away from both boys for more than a night since 2005 (well, when my friend's husband passed away, I went and stayed with her for a few days, but that hardly counts as a trip for pleasure) when Jerry and I went to Cedar Point Park for a couple of days.  Brendan was 6 months old.  He's 4 now.    Don't get me wrong, I love my boys.  I love them more than life itself-life would be absolutely meaningless without them.  But I watch them all day, every day, and I need a break now and then to ensure that I am the best mommy I can possibly be.  Anyway...

Women's choir concert is coming up this Sunday, and we're fortunate to have the concert in the newly opened Presbyterian Church.  Oh yeah, I should probably mention that we had our first services in the church on Easter Sunday- 13 months after a fire nearly burned it to the ground.  It looks the same inside- of course with drastic changes to modernize the church like neutral carpeting and pews, snazzy sound system, new digital grand piano, wide-screen TV, projection system, unisex bathroom just outside the sanctuary, fancy pants kitchen with all the modern updates including a giant convection oven for the pie ladies, a commercial dishwasher, and also separate side-by-side fridge and freezer.  The biggest change?  Central air!!!!!  Sweet.

Well, my post is reeking of ADD and I really don't have much else to mention, so just scroll down and enjoy the pictures I've posted.

I'm glad your shot didn't hurt... I got the dpt shot 2 weeks ago and STILL have a pea sized lump where it was. It was probably 3 inches in diameter for the first 36 hours and then has slowly been shrinking. I don't think my body was very happy to have it. :)
